Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents his initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from March of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional victory, took control to force a final set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
